Although the U.S. and Russia both are closed to foreigners, some of them are now open to Russians, and the SRAS website states that it will continue to welcome Russian students. The Russian government, however, is unsure what the implications of the new law will be. The current list includes Belarus, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Tanzania, the UAE, Britain, and Japan.

In a nutshell, the United States has been opened to Russians and their families, but the restrictions are still on. This means that Russians are not allowed to study abroad or work as diplomats or pilots, and their relatives

are not allowed to visit. As for the upcoming visa issuance, the country is negotiating bilateral agreements with 28 other countries to open its borders. Flights from Zambia, Tanzania, and the Dominican Republic were re-opened today, and flights to South Korea and Finland have also increased. But, flight from Tanzania will remain prohibited until June 1 - if it has not been done yet, it will never be opened.

There are a variety of ways to get to Russia, including flying direct from the US to one of the "open" countries. These include Turkey, Germany, and Finland. Other popular layover countries, such as Turkey, have closed their borders to Russians. This means that travelers from those countries may be denied boarding. If they choose to travel by land, there are dozens of other options. A quick search on Google will yield a list of all the открытые страны for Russians.

The Russian government has started approving travelers to the US from certain countries. These countries include Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Turkey. On August 15, 2020, flights resumed between Switzerland and Russia. Swiss citizens were permitted to enter the country. On October 14, 2020, the UAE, Egypt, and Maldives removed restrictions and began accepting Russians. As of this writing, the UAE, Serbia, and Japan also made allowances.

The Russian government is reworking its travel policies for tourists. It no longer requires a passport from a Russian citizen to enter the

country, but it does require an appropriate medical certificate and a negative test for COVID-19. As of August 1, 2019, the Russian government has resumed flights to other countries. The UAE and the U.K. have also begun reopening their borders. The changes in travel restrictions are temporary, but not indefinite.

The Russian government has not yet decided on a new rule for Russian citizens to visit other countries. Currently, Canada is open for Canadians to visit, but the Russian government has yet to fully implement it. The country is still undergoing revisions of its immigration policies. The changes in its

immigration policy are unclear, and they may not affect you. As with most laws in the world, it is necessary to check with the local migration office before entering the country.
